Eric/Sookie Body Language Flashback! Part Two!

Special blog entry to update the Eric/Sookie body language after Episode 3×03 to Episode 3×10 including dreams/fantasies (since I believe they are very symbolic of how Eric and Sookie truly feel about eachother) This will be updated again after the season finale:

3×04- Eric’s fantasy:

A hand to the chest indicates complete comfortableness and affection "especially around the heart." Eric truly wants love more than anything else from Sookie.

When you are subconciously attracted to someone, you are attracted to their smell. Mutual smelling is a sign of deep subconcious attraction.

Episode 3×06:

Touching shoulders is a subtle flirtation move...

Subtle guiding her long (in the back area) indicates Eric's control of the situation and walking ahead indicates Sookie's subconcious decision to trust his guidance.

Despite Eric's seemingly agressive move, it's almost as if he is embracing her and she seems pretty relaxed considering the position they are in despite her wide eyes indicating slight stress.

This scene mirrors the porch scene. Eric is trying to get Sookie's attention more than anything else. He is desperately leaning into her. Other than that, the close face-to-face eye contact indicates general trust whether it is acknowledged or not.

Sookie is obviously sad (watery eyes, hanging mouth, exposed teeth) more than anything else. I don't think this reaction was solely based on his refusal to rescue Bill.

Eric's facial reaction at having to do what he did mirrors sookie's minus the tears (since he cries blood) and his teeth are not exposed. But he is obviously sad.

Episode 3×10:

Whew! Look at that face Eric gets when he sees Sookie. He shows a lot of passion and total desire just looking at her sleep (parted lips, “the eyebrow flash,” scrunched forehead).

Eric desires a partnership/equality indicated by sitting across from her to her level on the couch rather than towering over her with his height. However, he sits slightly above her in order to get her attention because his "don't trust Bill," message and "you know you have feelings for me," message are very important to him.

This gentle kiss represents the gentle nature of any future relationship.

Once again, they are getting close and staring into eachother's eyes without interuption. (as I have said before, prolonged, uninterrupted eye contact in the wild is a sign of aggression in the wild yet not only do Eric and Sookie consistantly do this and face-to-face, closely. These two must trust eachother as much as two people possibly can, no matter what they say.

Their pelvis-to-pelvis contact obviously signifies their mutual sexual desire for one another.

This signifies Eric's total desperation and vulnerability with Sookie (the shoulder grab) and her initial guilt about kissing him by keeping the distance with her hands.

This desperation^^ mirrors Eric’s desperation when he leaned into Sookie during the Fangtasia conversation in Episode 3×02.

They signify trust through this kiss too: Eric is allowed to embrace her vulnerable head and Sookie is allowed to embrace Eric's vulnerable neck.

Allowing their mutual vulnerability, Sookie kisses him back  (showing her mutual desire for him) in such a way that Eric believes he can go all out on her! (he simultaneously shows friendly love and affection by “hugging her with one hand and passion by grabbing her hair with the other hand).

This indicates that there is truly no emotional distance between these two (no matter what they say) because all distance has been closed. They did everything except having sex right there. They might as well have. They are fully embraced here.

Eric feels comfortable enough to ultimately embrace her in a fully affectionate and purely loving way, with a “hug” / full embrace without any of the lust shown through the hair grabbing. He was totally emotionally bare here in a way we have never seen before as an audience.

I think Eric is actually experiencing fear more than anything else (wide eyes, clenched jaw, heavy breathing). He is afraid because he has never loved before (he is in love, trust me, Do I need to prove that through body language too?) and knows this could mean serious trouble for both of them and also because he is vulnerable with her like nobody else and doesn’t know how to handle that especially because he has just discovered she DEFINITELY has feelings for him too yet they can’t be together for various reasons and she is also still in love with Bill.

Devastation/defeat- open mouth, droopy & red eyes cast downward.

This face also indicates pity for Sookie (her ignorance concerning Bill) with the downward face and glazed eyes added to the other body language/facial signals.

Eric throws her over his shoulder to seperate himself from his action because he cannot stand to look her in the face while he has to do this.

We can clearly see that despite everything going on, Eric and Sookie trust eachother. Eric could have trusted Sookie if she wasn’t still so attached to Bill (we can see that she is even subconciously willing to be guided by Eric, and I think she will eventually learn a lot from him, not just as a lover, but also as a teacher in all aspects of her life, including handling the vampire hiearchy). Even though Bill is not honest with her, Sookie’s own need for honesty would have blown the whole plan to Bill and Bill has clearly been established as someone that nobody can trust.
Eric is also fearful as to what their MUTUAL feelings mean for the safety of both of them, plus the other people in their lives that they love and so he feels like he needs to cover it up, NOW. I think their affection for one another runs deep and while enjoyable, could be destructive in some ways to their lives given the unfortunate tragedy of both of their situations.
However, I believe that they will ultimately make an unstoppable team  once (if) they join forces and that is part of their love story (E/S tragic qualities will only be enhanced in a positive way by one another, yet B/S tragic qualties are enhanced in a negative way by one another)!

Yes, it is and it is also obvious what a bad guy Bill is and what a liar he is (Bill Compton is a liar post coming next).

and thank you so much! I love everyone that takes the time to let me know they enjoyed it.

I thought it was awesome too! I’m already dying about the finally because I know we are going to be left hanging for a very long time. I guess I can start re-reading the books then!

    • #6 by talktrueblood on August 27, 2010 - 3:25 am

Thank you for the compliment too!
I just hope that Sookie realizes Eric was doing it for her protection too.

That is what I am going to do…ugh, it’s going to be so tough! I am going to start working on my book again.

    totally love this post!!

seriously!! i agree with the whole concept of them together in their scenes! can’t wait for next season when they move up a notch! hehee thats if, the bloody writers choose to STICK with BOOK 4!!

i mean, everybody loves book 4 right? who doesn’t?!

every trubie fan i’ve spoken to said book 4 is freaken awesome!!

they like the shower scene;) hahaa exciting stuff!! woo hoo!!

    • #8 by talktrueblood on August 27, 2010 - 6:56 am

Thank you michelle! i do it for the Eric fans hah
They are so connected already and it’s building up so much that the first sex scene should be soooo romantic.

I really don’t see how AB can ignore the love for Eric/Sookie book 4. He wouldn’t dare not do it because it would create an uproar I am sure in all but the most diehard Bill fans.

Book 4 is my favorite and most people’s favorites, unless you are, once again, a die hard Bill fan…but they are about 1/5-1/4 of the audience but I dare say that are most obsessed than us Eric fans because Stephen is doing well in a competitive fundraiser against Alex and they are willing to overlook absolutely everything!

Book 4 was amazing…I will probably read it 9 more times (once a month) before season 4…lmao

      • #9 by theagnosticswife on August 27, 2010 - 4:18 pm

Book 4 was one of my favorites along with some chapters of I think it was book 9. 😉

Thank you for this post! If they make S/E Sex scene, I think, I might pass out or cry from happiness! This is a torture waiting for every sunday, and after that… I don’t even know. I mean wait till June 2011? That’s crazy.

    • #11 by talktrueblood on August 27, 2010 - 2:22 pm

      LMAO Lena. Me too!

I think I would have to forget about my obsession for those months to go by any easier and I will not so they won’t haha

  6. #12 by Elalia on August 27, 2010 - 1:03 pm

Great post.. i never quite looked at the situation that way.. body language sometimes is so obvious u don`t pay too much attention to it.. but the meticulous way in which u describe their interaction and exchange is spot on.. i love how u took different photos and gave a body language explanation .. it sounds like psychological stuff but very precise and simple to understand
it seems so obvious that their feelings are deep and are only starting to resurfacing.. anyway thanks again for your post.. cant wait to see the next one for next episode…

    • #13 by talktrueblood on August 27, 2010 - 2:29 pm

      Thank you and welcome Elalia!

Oh yes and we assume these are actors too…BUT…that is just it! They put a lot of attention into how we should interpret what their characters and so they are probably trying to convey everything I pointed out actors/writers/directors. I have done theatre and I know these things are important and are thought of.
If they absorb their characters, they take on a life of their own too through the actor.

If Sookie didn’t really care for Eric and trust him too, she would never let him get in her face like that or have willingly returned his kiss…to the point where he was able to wrap his hands around her head or touch her hair with one and hug her with the other..>Sookie was obviously really, really into it!

      and thank you again!

      • #14 by Elalia on August 28, 2010 - 1:18 pm

U are absolutely right; the trust is there everpresent, even though it is not professed in a loud and clear way.. It is subtle but also strong. As you said I too doubt that Sookie would have let Eric (willingly at least) come that close to her and not recoil a bit if she didn’t intuitively knew that he meant her no harm, and let’s be honest, if Eric only wanted to drink her blood or have sex with her by force; he would have had already (never mind the “Sookeh is maahn” Bill’s declarations)
As Sookie says in the books; Eric can kiss like a house on fire and she is experincing great pleasure with Eric’s kiss.. i’m just pissed that she ruined the mood with her”i know i’m irresistible and intoxicating blah blah”…
The culmination of this tension should reach one hell of a firework !!!
Anyway thanks very much for answering, really appreciate it !!

      • #15 by talktrueblood on August 28, 2010 - 4:13 pm

I am glad you took insight into that…because I think that is the most important point….Sookie trusts Eric whether she admits it or not!
I agree that Eric would have gone for the kill ,so to speak, with Sookie already if he didn’t actually have feelings for her.
As for the comments at the end by Sookie….It just goes to show that she felt enough of a connection and that herself had revealed her feelings enough in that kiss that she felt
like she needed to cover it up. Honestly, I think it ultimately just makes Eric want her more that she was ultimately able to try to resist his charms like that.
He isn’t used to it. AT THE SAME TIME, it also makes Eric want her more that she was obviously into the kiss and returned it, so she has feelings. While I believe Eric was mostly fearful, he was
also sad because he knows she has feelings for him now and knows that they can’t be together because of Bill. Once Alcide shows up on the scene, especially because we know Eric hates
werewolves to begin with, he will go into jealousey mode for sure. He wants Sookie to love him back more than ever now.

I answer all comments! Everyone who takes the time to comment…no matter how many times…is worth my attention and I love answering them too.

  9. #20 by Missy on August 27, 2010 - 5:02 pm

As always you bring it TTB! 😀 Very observant.

I so love the kiss, it’s beautiful, passionate, desperate, tender, sad, loving. Just like he’s feeling at that time. And you can see it in his eyes, his facial expression, his hands on her face, the way they press their bodies into each other. The hand on her shoulder and the other on her back, and then moving into the hair. She pressing her chest to him, hands on his back and his hair!
This man just puts it all out there, that is some seriously good kisser! Best onscreen kiss I’ve seen!!
Love how Sookie is never intimidated around Eric, he towers over her but they always keep eyecontact. Their lower bodyparts touching before the kiss… these two are just made for each other!

I loved their banter in Russells mansion. It showed how she looks at him as an equal and he does too (just can’t show it in front of the king). Even then she’s not afraid of him, hurt yes, but not afraid. They even dream of each others as equals. Eric doesn’t dream of tasting her blood, he dreams of smelling her, talking, joking, sharing memories, kissing/make out. Sookie dreams of Eric as her subconcience and survival instinct, warning her and letting her in on her feelings for him.

Eric and Sookie are like Rhett & Scarlett. He’s the tough guy with a heart of gold who doesn’t treat his woman like porcelain doll (as Sunnynala says 🙂 ). He isn’t afraid of looking cold in her eyes if it justifies keeping her safe.

    • #21 by talktrueblood on August 27, 2010 - 7:38 pm

      Thank you Missy!

It was every emotion in that kiss..every emotion and it was coupled with the tension built from almost three seasons, the dreams and Sookie hesitation to give in even though she was obviously very into it. THEY almost NEVER interact without being face-to-face making googly eyes at eachother. Notice the differences in how they interact when Bill is around and when Bill is not around haha

I don’t think there is anyway either of them would honestly believe the other doesn’t care at all after the whole Godric situation and the flirting during the FOTS rescue.

Their connection is undeniable and forever and is not based entirely on Eric’s blood, as he said.

I loved Sunny’s Rhett and Scarlett suggestion!

  10. #22 by Dee Northman on August 27, 2010 - 5:36 pm

I agree, Sookie and Eric are like Scarlett and Rhett Butler. She may be find him irritating, but always run to him, everytime she’s in trouble. But, somehow, i don’t care wether tv Eric will end up with tv Sookie. The way they write her and the way Anna Paquin deliver the lines just get the hell out of me everytime.

    • #23 by talktrueblood on August 27, 2010 - 9:02 pm

Lmao. I want Eric to be with Sookie because she makes him all romantic and happy and I like seeing that side of him and I think Eric makes Sookie a better character too because he bringsout her strengths.
I also enjoy Russell a lot even though he is a villian and all.

    • #24 by talktrueblood on August 27, 2010 - 9:03 pm

      also, Bill doesn’t deserve Sookie.

  11. #25 by Sarah on August 27, 2010 - 6:52 pm

I have to agree with the others that your post is really insightful and furthermore I am eventually able to see my favourite kissing scene fully analyized as it deserved it.
At the moment I rewatch season 5-7 of Buffy, a constant reminder not to become too involved in ships. Right now i enjoy the heart-breaking interactions between Buffy and Spike in Intervention and though love.
I so hope that the relationship between our Viking and Sookie will end a bit better, …..please AB!! Unfortunately I fear that AB stole Whedon´s disposition of showing relationships in all of their tragedy. Yet a girl can hope 🙂

    • #26 by talktrueblood on August 27, 2010 - 7:08 pm

I completely agree about the Spike/Buffy thing from Btvs (forgive me as I go on about this BC I LOVED SPIKE’S CHARACTER) but the difference between Spike and Eric is that Spike was evil with an odd capacity to love but he held no remorse for his past until he got a soul (that is not a factor on TB of course). Vampires hold more responsibility for thier actions like humans because the “soul” factor was not present like on Btvs and THAT IS WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT TB. None of them can blame their vampire nature for the murders because as Eddie says, “we are who we were before we were turned.” Also, Buffy and Spike were physical and intellectual equals in most ways. Sookie is neither to Eric but her bravery and the fact that she is an insistant Pam type character that possesses a sentimental nature attracts him to her besides the fact that they really understand eachother. Eric is not evil. He is soldier and only kills when needed, not out of pure fun like Spike/Bill did, using his vampire nature as the excuse. Eric is a ruthless leader but his loyalty overcomes that and his love is more pure than even he would like to recognize.

I think that vampires are a lot more in the gray area in the TB universe though:
I think AB will show the tragedy between E/S but I think he will also show the love between them and how it can be interpreted as a greater love than B/S.
I think the tragic aspect of E/S keep things interesting to the overall audience but we should also get an opportunity to see a lot of pure romance and love between them

      • #27 by Sarah on August 28, 2010 - 10:03 am

You never have to excuse some Spike love 🙂
Nevertheless I think that souled (and partially even chipped) Spike has a lot of common with Eric: Both are highly loyal to their beloved persons, they never lose their sarcasm, are ready to fight for “the one”, immensly enjoy their unlife and deep down they still have a poetic streak…

      • #28 by talktrueblood on August 28, 2010 - 4:15 pm

        : ))
OH I like the Spike and Eric comparisons there…very, very true!

Fabulous as always. I loved watching this scene, and I love your analysis of it. That man is so in love.

  13. #31 by Bobsgran on August 27, 2010 - 8:41 pm

Absolutely super TTB. I thought I was going to need a cigarette after reading your analysis. That real kiss did truly broadcast all the emotions they both feel. Can’t wait for more of your views.

    • #32 by talktrueblood on August 27, 2010 - 9:00 pm

Thanks Bobsgran. I thought I might need a cigarette while I was writing it. lmao.
Yeah, and the kiss was way too long not to have meant as much as I think it did.
She could have pulled away much sooner than that! haha ; )

  14. #33 by pbt on August 28, 2010 - 1:11 am

Always enjoy reading your blog. The kiss was the epitome of three years of pent up anger and lust in one single moment. A single moment of complete intimacy. A moment that completely took Eric by surprise. His face with that awesome look of amazement said it all. I suspect that Eric isn’t one to partake in such an intensely personal act with his lovers. As we saw with Yvetta, his take on sex had taken on a different persona.

Eric and Sookie at the moment both connected on a much deeper level. Sookie would not admit now or for the rest of the season but rest assured she will be thinking about that kiss in future episodes next season. I suspect that Eric feels the same way.

    • #34 by talktrueblood on August 28, 2010 - 1:26 am

thanks pbt and thanks for commenting.
not just anger and lust…but also hidden affection and possibly unrequited love on Eric’s part. I say Eric loves Sookie because if he didn’t: why would his dying wish be simply just to kiss her?
If Eric didn’t love Sookie, he also wouldn’t be so adament about not giving her up totally to Russell to save his own skin and Pam’s.
I also don’t think Eric would be intimate at all with someone he didn’t love either.

Oh yes, I think she will and so will Eric when he gets his memory back…plus, by then he will also suspect they slept together when he lost his memory and he will assume Sookie should
be with like in the books and he knows Sookie has feelings for him now so nothing will ever be the same.

      • #35 by pbt on August 28, 2010 - 2:20 am

See I still can’t call it love on the Viking’s part. Believe me I would love to say it is love that Eric feels for Sookie. Definitely an admiration for what Sookie is. She has become an obsession of Eric but I don’t see it as love. His “dying” wish to kiss her was his last attempt to prove to Sookie that he has feelings for her and that she has them also.

It also could been a last effort to prove that Eric was telling her the truth about Bill. Eric knows that Sookie loves Bill and is not willing at this point to leave him. But by kissing her, Eric has shown her that she is more than just a passing fancy. He was revealing his inner wishes, desires and lust for the telepath. His desire and “love” is growing but I personally don’t feel its fully developed yet. I still think Eric feels he owes Sookie for being with and helping with Godric. Showing himself in a way that I dare no one has seen since perhaps Pam was turned. Though I wonder on the show if Eric and Pam had a sexual relationship. I am actually thinking that AB will show they didn’t.

That what they have could be oh so much better than her relationship with Bill. I think it was kind of a tease on his part. Eric never does anything without a purpose. His whole dream conversation with Sookie was to get her to Fangtasia. It several purposes and Sookie took the bait.

Just personally I don’t see it as love yet but that’s not saying that it won’t be in the near future.

      • #36 by talktrueblood on August 28, 2010 - 6:40 am

I think you might be right but I also think you might be wrong…
I just don’t see Eric being so willing to unselfishly protect her when it would benefit him a lot more not too, no matter if they were “friends or more.” or not without something really special there already.
I think he would have given her up for real long ago with no conscience about it if it was merely a “strong attraction.”

Why would not kissing her be his deepest regret if this wasn’t love for the first time after 1000 years? Why would he have risked everything to warn her about the werewolves and Russell? It would be that he feels he owes her for Godric but that cannot be the only reason for all of this…unless you are right and it is? hahaha.

Even if you are right, their actions are still profound on both sides.
I guess I wonder if they can show Eric loved her before he tasted her.

  15. #37 by Linda on August 28, 2010 - 1:24 am

I loveeddd your analysis!! and i loved that scene!!
i just want them to get it on already! but then when i think about it, id prefer it to be prolonged, so we get more of these sexual-tension scenes! So if they rush into Eric and Sookie too soon, it wont be as interesting? but hey whatever, i just want them together already! im over Bill! haha. and Eric.. mmm he’s so damn finnee!! 😉 I love him.

So overall.. Thanks for the post 🙂 i really did enjoy it 😉

I would never get bored with E/S kissing or sex scenes. It they had one every episode I wouldn’t be happier haha.
I want them to have several little moments though if we won’t be getting a big one for a while : )

I will take a scene on every surface of Sookie’s house please. 🙂 And they don’t last 10 seconds like the Bill and Sookie scenes with the impaling.

        LMAO exactly!

      • #41 by Katrina on August 31, 2010 - 2:06 am

I definitely enjoy the build-up, so yes, if we’re not going to get a full blown sex scene for a while yet, there had BETTER be lots of little moments.

But I’m with you, I’d never get tired of sex scenes featuring those two. Hell, those two spooning for an hour straight and talking about gardening would be enough to bring me back every week, lol.

      • #42 by talktrueblood on August 31, 2010 - 6:42 am

        Agreed!
actually Askars alone is enough to bring me back every week.

  16. #43 by Glamour Freaks on August 30, 2010 - 5:30 am

Great post as always. I totally agree that Sookie does trust Eric or she would have never gone to Fangtasia in the first place. Despite having a small amount of his blood she totally has the hots for him, she can blame it on the blood all she wants, but it’s just an excuse so she doesn’t have to feel guilty…

    • #44 by talktrueblood on August 30, 2010 - 6:17 am

THank you and welcome glamour freaks!

After tonight’s episode, we could totally see my speculation about E/S confirmed!
      and agreed!

  17. #45 by Katrina on August 31, 2010 - 1:50 am

    I love this!

I came to the same conclusion about Eric’s facial expression after he and Sookie kissed; he looks terrified to me, and obviously it’s because he knows what a mess their relationship could be. Also because he’s not used to having feelings for anyone, much less a human, and he feels completely vulnerable.

Alexander Skarsgard is doing an impeccable job playing Eric, as far as I’m concerned. The casting there couldn’t possibly have been any more perfect.

The rest of the body language dissection is amazing! I think I’ll bookmark you and come back some time:)

    • #46 by talktrueblood on August 31, 2010 - 6:42 am

Exactly! That is the reason Eric is terrified.

I cannot imagine anyone else as Eric or playing him so flawlessly. Eric is a difficult character to play because he has feelings but he doesn’t want people to see them or he reserves them only for some (yet it still has to be subtle. Eric is always obvious trying to be subtle (very, very hard) and always trying to not sure facial movements too much because he thinks thats the only thing that really gives someone away hah (so it always needs to come from the eyes).

Ill need to update the body language again for everyone once the season is over!

  18. #47 by Eric is hot on September 1, 2010 - 2:50 am

I too agree that Eric was shocked at how he felt after the kiss. Even Bill realizes she has feelings for Eric that have nothing to do with the blood exchange. I am a book lover and it did take a couple of books for Sookie and Eric to be Sookie and Eric.

    • #48 by talktrueblood on September 1, 2010 - 3:43 am

He was shocked but also scared I think. He already knew that he was having those deep feelings and that it was a deep kiss because he confessed it would be his biggest regret….not kissing her.
I think he was afraid at what their love could mean for both of them and that it had crossed the line of no return there.

I am a book lover too and I do realize the build up was slow…actually quite frustrating sometimes…I guess the show mirrors this.haha.

    Hi!

Why on earth I have not found this site earlier!
    Thank you some much, TTB.
Now I know what I do at work from now on. =)

LOVE LOVE LOVE the body language analysis! Thanks so much for your insight! I’m so happy I found this blog! And I agree wholeheartedly with you, TTB. Beeyul does NOT deserve Sookie! I only hope that this past week’s breakout confession from Bill (with Eric’s presence) that he did not tell Sookie she was a “supernatural sunscreen” is a foreshadowing of Eric forcing Bill’s ultimate confession of his betrayal. Oh, that would be perfect, considering we have had to endure AB’s trickery for 3 seasons!!! Pardon me whilst I daydream….

Thank you, thank you for the love for the blog. I am more glad you found it than you are finding it, I am sure : )
I certainly hope it was foreshadowing!
I am daydreaming as well but I think by Season 4, it will be reality!

I hope so, although I can see all of this coming out because of Claudine or The Queen or Hadley, maybe it’s Eric and that is why Bill goes crazy on him potentially.

Question – I read on a thread that Erics’ fangs didn’t dome out during the kiss @Fangtasia and people were saying it’s because he wasn’t turned on sexually? the fangs are supposed to come out when vamps are turned on, excited, stressed etc. why do you think Erics’ didn’t?

I figured it must have been an oversight by the director because obviously Eric is Sexually attracted!!

    • #54 by talktrueblood on September 6, 2010 - 10:10 pm

Actually, fangs not coming out shows that Eric is more aroused by Sookie herself than the blood.
Many vampires connect blood with sex. If Eric is not needing blood during sex (like in the 2×09 dream), then it is more about her and his love for her than the blood or the raw passion.
It was all about the love and passion and not about the lust itself!
It was a scene about emotion and saying goodbye, not sex.
So really, it was a VERY ROMANTIC and great thing for us Eric fans that his fangs did not come out. IT was something truly emotional and beautiful they showed between them.

I have to agree with you here TTB ( i do most of the time lol)
But i thought about it as well and i guess that the fangs didnt come out because of the nature of the situation it was almost desperate at that moment Eric was under tremendous pressure and fear i think so when he kissed Sookie it was instanteous and impulsive.. and it didnt last long enough for the fangs to come out in the dream scene in 2×09 when he kissed her the fangs didnt come out as well
so IMO the fangs do come out in a much more erotic/sexual situation… this was rather romantic as u say and so sweet … by the look on his face after he kissed he was shocked and thrown off guard and there was no bestial/sexual undercurrent in there… i could be wrong but this is how i interpret the fangs not coming out…

        Correct
It was all about the emotion and not the sexuality/sensuality. Plus, he had never tasted her before and wouldn’t be so casual about it, especially since they are not truly together.
I totally agree with everything you said.
I think Eric was scared that they feel this way about eachother and what it would mean for them both.
Eric was too shocked and scared to think of it as a sexual situation.

Aahhh that is good to know – that is how he is portrayed in the books too. Makes sense. He is into her for her – not her blood!! I can’t wait to hear him call her his “future lover” haha:)

A.B. is setting Eric up to be the romantic hero we all have been waitng for….sigh….

I’m here for the update 😀
Aaaahhhh the kiss *.* That beautiful, passionate, desperate, raw, tender, sweet kiss. And I totally agree with you that Eric was scared when Sookie broke the kiss… scared and surprised. He’s finally admitting to himself that he’s in love with her and is terrified of that. I’m so glad they showed these emotion before he actually tasted Sookie.
It’s very obvious that they both want each other, the leaning in to each other, the long stares, the pelvis touching, invading each others private space. Sookie is not at the same spot in her emotions as Eric is, but that will change in the next season.

Oh you know this is most amazing post because we get to talk about the kiss.
can’t wait to talk about potential sex scenes haha ; )

Oh yes. his words and his bodylanguage both pointed to love…I don’t see how anyone doubts that anymore. I actually think their relationship as progressed more on True Blood though it’s a lot heavier than light hearted at this point.
I think Sookie will realize that she at least cares about Eric a lot and then the feelings might progress to his next season as well I think : )))

    Hey TTB
Ive never seen this post before but it’s very good and I agree wholeheartedly.

I love to point out that Bill’s fangs came out a matter of SECONDS into the first B/S kiss, but Eric’s first kiss with Sookie was fangless. Not cause he doesn’t want her, because he does, but because it goes so beyond that by that point. It was all about the emotions. And no matter what Eric does, Sookie knows deep down that he is trustworthy, even if Bill messes with her head and turns her against him, and Eric does things to her that are less than desirable, LOL. But she knows she has feelings for him, she’s even admitted it to Bill. I can’t wait for next Season!

Thanks Ashley. I am glad I was able to share this with a few people and I am doing a new one based on them shortly though it won’t be as long haha.

Yes, I was very happy no fangs came out when Eric kissed Sookie for the first time and it was all about his love and nothing else really.
Yes, but I think it will be very sad thinking he might not remember afterwards…
I think it would advance the plot better if he did remember even though she might struggle with thinking he wasn’t the same person no matter how much they’ve built now and that will be the new struggle :/
