The Authority’s New World Order

How do I know the Authority wants to be at the head of a “New World Order?” :

1. The Authority is clearly a secretive power elite of vampires (I mean, they don’t even show their faces to most people!)

I would call a group of 5 vampires that barely meet anyone face-to-face but basically control everything a secretive and elite group. They are also not known to most humans or other supernaturals , much less known to be fronted by the public interest group, the AVL.

2. The Authority is clearly manipulating politics and probably finances using a front organizations (such as the AVL). As Bill said, vampires have hid behind several human institutions throughout history, probably for purposes of power (we know how powerful the Catholic Church was hundreds of years ago politically and otherwise).

Bill explains vampires hiding within human institutions

In this Post Mortem (that aired after episode 3x04), we learn that vampires have affected Wall Street

3. The Authority clearly idealizes their organization as the pinnacle of society’s progress. In other words, they believe vampires are the height of biological evolution/ height of creation and that their agenda is therefore the height of society/civilization itself.

The Magister constantly talks about the blood like it's a superior part of creation or evolution. He certainly thought of vampires as superior and talked of it in religious terms as if they were superior for that reason as well.

As we learned from Nan, the Authority/ the AVL contain scientists (ones that helped produce Tru-Blood). It is reasonable to assume they are focused on "advancing society."

4. The Authority uses an abundance of propaganda to achieve it’s goals inside and outside the organization.

American Vampire League Propaganda

5. The Authority clearly wants to eventually control the politics of the United States through it’s front organization: the AVL. If they control the politics of the United States, it is very possible that they will control politics on a global scale ( implementing a globalist agenda).

Bill is obviously getting involved in human politics at the Authority's direction

6. Once The Authority achieves it’s domination of the United States and in turn The World, it’s rule seems like it will be a Totalitarian government (they will want to regulate every aspect of public and private life).

There is a strict enforcement of their aims AT ALL COSTS

The Magister was ready to regulate use of the blood (a social issue since he wants to regulate it in all cases outside of procreation) and when Eric talked about his buisness, an obviously financial aspect, the Magister seemed to think that was important to enforce as well.

So what can we expect of a “New World Order” ran by the Authority?

We can expect that the Authority will install many vampire puppets like Bill currently is (as of episode 4×05) throughout politics once the vampire rights bill passes….all the way up to the presidency. I suspect that their influence will reach globally because of the global influence that the United States currently possesses. If vampires in power gains legitmacy in the United States, it is possible it could spread to other areas of the globe.

They will control everything from use of the blood to finaces in the United States. Vampires that oppose them could find themselves facing the true-death openly and humans could be manipulated/glamoured on a wide scale into spreading their power throughout the country and the world. Humans that try to “use” the blood for their own purposes could face the death penelty or imprisonment.

There will be a national then global “War on V use.”

The powers of the presidency will be expanded to accomidate the superior vampires and their vast wealth will fund all of it. People that oppose them will be bought off if not “taken-care-of.”

This government may even place humans into a system of open oppression gradually. Religions that openly express that vampires are superior may become more mainstream (including a possible sect of Catholicism).

My friends at True Blood Underground and Ancient Pythoness also have a similar idea/ similar theories

Great post Kat. I’ve thought for some time, that there may be two factions within The Authority fighting for control and dominance. Not that I believe either side would be particularly benevolent to humans. Perhaps the approach to human relations would differ. Bill made a statement this season that Eric had friends in high places to Sookie and he couldn’t make him sell his property back to her. You’ve pointed out that the Magister seems to represent a more fundamentalist approach and it might be that Nan represents the more secular. Just a thought to mull over.

      Thank you…
well yes but I also figured it was more about those that completely opposed the Authority (preferred the traditional monarch rule possibly?)

I did another post explaining that idea.

Yes, great post…I’m wondering if we will see any vampires higher than Nan this season….If the Authority is not an actual religious organization, then it al least behaves as a de facto one, with emphasis placed on obeying the hierarchy, doing what’s best for the greater good, etc.

I am hoping that we will…
I am also certain Russell E will come back (theyve been talking about it) so the Authority will be in peril potentially and I don’t think Russell is the only one opposing them.

Well I think they feel they are a religion onto themselves.

Within any authority or government there will also be corruption. It makes it difficult to know if the problem lies with the authority itself, or the individual members within it. Some seem to take their duties very seriously (like the poor magistrar who lost his head for trying to do what in his mind was the correct thing), while others like Nan and Bill are clearly more interested in what the backing of the authority can do for them personally. Please understand I’m NOT saying the authority is good. I’m just saying we can’t be sure.

Speaking of vampires vs. humans, am I the only one who finds it laughable that vampires think they’re not human? They are basically humans with a disease, and they can pass that disease on to other non-infected humans. They aren’t non-human, they just have unusual symptoms. In my opinion, anyway.

      That is very true…power corrupts.
I like your perspective on that….I really mean that.
Maybe they really have only the best intentions…
I just personally believe that the Authority is out for their own power and not really for the greater good, if they are it’s misplaced into some strange religious ideology (of course people like Nan and Bill will always ride the backs of those with such power in such a situation).

Yes, I do! LOOOOL You are so spot on today….so correct.
Well it’s a magic (as Bill himself even said in season one)…they are under a spell by being walking dead people with powers lol
If they’re the result of magic…then they can be easily manipulated by magic.

well, its the food chain issues, people think they are at the top of that cause they are stronger, can eat everything lower in a chain so they are a winer, and what if there is something higher in food chain, something speciallized in feed on humans? There is a rule: if one spiece is the main food for another spiece this another is higher in a chain food, so wampire will be higher than human. When you add that vampire are faster, stronger, live longer… well you could say that they have some immprovements after they change fom human to vampire. And they have abilities to make their feeding on people easier – like glamour, it’s a big improovement… But sun alergy is a bit to big prize for that 😉
    And this is simple biology.
Trouble became when they put ideology to that and create a vision of superior race, WW II was best example that “ubermensch” or other superior race bullshit are just wrong path of evolution 😉
And I think here it could end as bad as well.
I’m really alergic for all fashism, racism, all superior things.
I’ve read that people who accept some kind of extremistic poin of view, no matter if it is extreme islam, christianism, or any political extreme (white power, anty-jew movement, or other) have some special structure of their brains and you could see on their EEG that they are extremists, on a scan there is a light spot of activity which isn’t active in normal brains. Sure that if you egzamine authority on brain scans you will find the same change, thing that makes them dangerous…

That is why I mentioned evolution in my post.
It’s very true that they believe in their superiority because they see themselves as the peak of evolution….or creation.

Me too. I find their extremism very disturbing…EVEN if they had good intentions which I don’t think they do.

Wow, I never knew that Anette. That’s fascinating.
However, it makes perfect sense since we can see almost any mental illness that way….including sociopathy.

Fanaticism of any kind is frighting. I’ve always thought that. And Annette is right, it doesn’t even matter what they’re fanatical about (unless it’s True Blood, obviously, lol). It’s like some sort of mental illness.

Right on girl. I’ve been saying this for a long time, that TB is illustrating, in allegorical form, issues of Deep State politics. Read Professor Peter Dale Scott:

I had never truly realized the depth of their political commentary until recently.
I knew there was political commentary but until I realized Bill was working for the Authority, I didn’t realize that it was an allegory for what you described.

It’s quite disturbing to see it play out in such a way onscreen.

THANK YOU for the link SUnny!

I just imagined Nan with a crazy curly heavy metal 80s hairstyle. I think the way she was pictured in Bill’s memories is a scam. Seriously, look at her now: all PR, classy, neat hair, business make-up, looking as professional as a vampire can. But in the 80’s, she MUST have had all that horrible hairstyles and clothes to stay up-to-date. And I bet she DID exercise to Jane Fonda’s videos, if only to be mainstreaming. Maybe she even fangbanged her.

Btw, do you write other blogs? I love at least half of your sentences and I wonder if you write about other TV series or any other stuff.
