Sookie-Eric-Bill 3some? Sookie-Eric-Bill-Alcide 4some? uh-no

There are a few mild spoilers below but nothing that gives away any real plot points…

Alan Ball has recently stated that he’s “Team Sookie” and it has been made clear that there is probably going to be a fantasy that involves both Eric and Bill because of this tidbit in the Episode 4×9 description:

” Sookie envisions a world where there’s room for both Bill and Eric.”

In addition, there are these photos that suggest that fantasy (Skarsgardfans.com posted this theory):

Even though there is no Alcide in these photos, we know he isn’t going anywhere. In that poster above, we see that he is considered a contender for her affections as well and as we saw in the promo, I don’t think Debbie was openly getting pissed off at Sookie again for no reason:

Debbie: "Do you love her?"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

I appreciate the Third-Wave feminist quality to this story line but it’s just not that sexy or believable given the circumstances youve presented to us. Plus, it looks like a cheap way to increase ratings, kinda like this scene with Pam was, not that I have/had a problem with it:

Nobody who is solidly backing one of these suitors is going to be all that thrilled by the suggestion for their own reasons.

Bottom Line: Sorry Alan Ball,  if you wanted to make me buy an Eric and Bill Threesome or a Foursome with Alcide (and maybe an eventual polyamorous relationship) OR at least buy Sookie floating all of the options around indefinitely then it didn’t work.

Well…

Maybe you shouldn’t have given me this flashback with Lorena or the infamous head-twisting scene with that same “lady” because that’s all I think about when I see Bill’s face:

There  also needs to be more chemistry between Alcide and Sookie on True Blood or Alcide should have been portrayed by a better actor. Well we all know my Alcide Rant. The fact that Alcide is  hot guy with his shirt off  isn’t going to  be enough for everyone to be interested in his character, much less be interested in a romantic pairing with Sookie.

Well Eric and Bill did seem to have a moment of chemistry during this Season Two scene LOOOOL:

Oooooook

BUT C’mon, let’s just stop there….we don’t need to add anything else to this ridiculous notion that Eric Northman (an intelligent, loyal, brave, and sophisticated thousand year old viking king) should have equal standing with either of those two^^

I am also really not into Amnesia Eric’s deference to Bill in last nights episode the she still cares about you stuff like THAT is suppose to make us forget (or sookie for that matter) the laundry list of crap Bill has done. ugh… hey kat I think it was all pretty clear BUT if you are going to break down any of the Sookie/Eric body language from I wish I was the moon I am a willing reader!

    • #4 by Kat on August 2, 2011 - 10:58 am

Yes, I will never be forgetting and frankly wanted to laugh at the porch scene with Bill during that and I would have had I not been so angry his face interrupted our scene.

I’m not either…but he’s even subservient to Sookie so ofc he would be to Bill.

Well of course I will get around to that. Usually I wait at least two to three episodes to do new body language articles but that was important.

I actually thought the deference Eric showed Bill made perfect sense in the context of the episode. See Eric has no memory of Bill, the only information he has at this point is that Bill is his king, and a hint that Sookie might have been his. Being a good person, he felt bad about attacking him. That’s all it was. He was showing respect. He doesn’t realize (yet) that Bill doesn’t deserve any!

What really confused me, was Bill letting him go. It made no sense unless Bill has an ulterior motive. The only thing I can think of is that Bill is thinking he can manipulate Eric now that he’s respectful. And of course letting him go to be with Sookie would only make him appear better in Amnesia Eric’s eyes. I don’t for a second believe Bill gives a shit about Sookie’s happiness.

That’s true and he has no idea about the Rattrays set-up or the fact that Bill went there under false pretenses.

***Not to mention that Eric wouldn’t stand in their way if Sookie chose Bill because he has no idea about the Rattrays set-up or him meeting her under false pretenses…much less anything else he’s done. I still wonder if the real Eric knows Bill almost killed Sookie when he drained her in the truck that time….***

      that’s very true! wonderfully put.

Yes, I think because of Bill’s sociopathic tendecies, he would take pleasure in Eric’s subserviance. He could also USE Eric in the witch war.

Well Sookie would hate him forever and he would never enjoy her in any fashion
Me either. He said he didn’t care about who was between her legs earlier.

If you hava a great viking in bed why to bother by a rather short and not so great let’ said gentleman from the south? And Sookie shows, that she hasn’t got any regrets after break off with Bill, she obviouslu care for Eric, and have no sentments for old sport 😉

And why old viking, even without memory, who is so in love in a girl would enjoy aother man company?

And let me say, sex with Bill was always little creepy, but with Eric, nice, tender, slowly, eye conection, nature, how much better it could be? And for once Sookie during sex wasn’t a meal, no blood lust, just love and tenderness, after all this, when she just noticed how different sex can be from all what she knows during rellationship with Bill – how stiupid she would be if she would have sex with Bill again? Remember, she was a virgin, with no experience (Jason had experience for them both ;)), she learned about sex from Bill, and it was creeeeepy sex, and now she saw totally different view on that subject. Maybe even after that she will understand that her rellationship with Bill was a strange and abusive better than before good sex with Eric?

And even on that teasing shots, with Sookie on the table what we can say about her BL? Or BL of all? Eric is totally into her, she is focused on him and Bill is jelous guy, with no hope for luck (of for fuck :)) – her hand crossing her legs, hiding a womb from his eyes, leg cross oposite to him, her eyes and face turn to other man, her right hand with finger pointing Eric
well, sorry Bill, no signs for shaggy for you 😉

The only 3-some I can see is a couple and a jelousy voyeurist 😉

She still cares about Bill that’s obvious but she doesn’t regret her break-up with him and seems to prefer moving on which is good.

Yes, I have noticed that myself. it’s fun to go crazy sometumes I am sure but that seems to be the only layer to their relationship (sookie and Bill).

all the body language signs pointed to Eric no matter what.

LMAO I have thought so myself.

” we don’t need to add anything else to this ridiculous notion that Eric Northman (an intelligent, loyal, brave, and sophisticated thousand year old viking king) should have equal standing with either of those two^^ ”

herehere!! Our Viking King has no contest or competition to win. He is lightyears ahead of Bill and Alcide in many ways. hah! perish the thought he should ever be on equal footing with those two.

I could not agree more. The fact is that Alcide is more like a brother to her, a responsible one that does not run out on her chasing tale all the time, as Jason does. The previews tried to advertise it as a possible/romance love interest for Sookie and it just didn’t seem to look to prosperous on either side.

I mean when Alcide gave her that great big grizzly bear hug in 4×04? It was just so platonic and meant as more of a sentimental comfort brotherly thing to do. I personally cant and do not want to see any sort of sexual/ romantic relationship develop from these two other than the brother/sister one going on right now. It just would not look right.

As for Bill, Well I think the moment he stepped on screen it was meant to enduce a kind of ‘Well Hi captian Butler! Where have you been? kind of feeling for a lot of the female fanbase. But we get that feeling that our Scarlett (Sookie) is far better matched with Rhett (Eric) our rogue in disguise with many a layer. Too much emphasis was placed on Bill in the first season, but this was probably due to the flow of the books.

One of the things that flustered me is the fact that Anne rice herself said ” I think the vampire Bill is the usual metaphor for the outsider and the sensitive outcast who suffers. He’s excellent.”

…..and Eric is not?? no, acoording to Anne, Eric is a disgrace. He’s cruel and one dimensional. I assure you that Lestat, Armand and Louis are fans of Bill Compton.”

really? this from the woman who names Lestat as a metaphorical “dark lover” once upon a time? I can’t believe she can’t read between the lines of Eric’s charecterization and look for something deeper. It just seems intersting to me that she favors Bill.

    Anywayys, thats my two cents.

Exactly. and Skarsgard said that in an interview himself.

Everything between Alcide and Sookie looks platonic to me. I wanted to do a body language between them for that reason.

Well it didn’t for me of course! lol
Ofc. I really got that impression as well.

People don’t want that typical, usual metaphor. If I want to see a tortured vampire I will watch Joss Whedon’s “angel” which was perfect for that but honestly I have had enough of that stereotype. I hate Anne Rice and her characterization of Eric. It’s hard to believe we’re supposed to see Eric as one-dimensional…is she crazy and not quite as good as people believe.

Bill isn’t one dimensional but one thing about it is that is Bill compton is playing a victim and yes he was a victim by being turned against his will but he has been the source of everything that has made him a victim since then. Bill has decided to victimize because he was victimized which points to sociopathy. Maybe Bill can sometimes be one-dimensional because a lot of his feelings must therefore be superficial.
I Love your comments Sam! thanks again!

and don’t forget it was Eric who told her that “red colour suits her very well”. and she never wears red (fangtasia t-shirt doesn’t count) – i think it’s a clue to who she really prefers

      WOW I love this analysis.

      VERY GOOD POINT!

don’t forget that red is Eric’s favorite colour (at least he said that it suited her very well) – and since usually she never wears it, i think it’s a clue…

    • #14 by Kat on August 11, 2011 - 1:07 am

AGAIN, great analysis!…..also I think if we ever see Sookie in red it might mean something about ERic.

It also may be a reference to Eric’s “true blood.”
